Walter Christian Rothe Alice GR-239

New Release from Groove Available End July/August

Walter Christian Rothe Alice GR-239

After a year of planning, restoring and lots of TLC I am very happy to announce the 30th anniversary
re-release of this master piece by WALTER CHRISTIAN ROTHE .
For year my whish was to re-release this fantastic album and with the great help from Walter but especially Dan Deznan, i am honored to re-release this epic story of Alice.

Here some thought from Dan without whom this would have not been this fantastic!!

Thinking back to the days before Internet and no reviews, every
mail order brought surprises. Alice was no exception with it’s
striking cover grabbing my full attention till I turned it over
and realized I was contemplating a vocal album.
The real surprise came after hearing the first two (vocal)
tracks dispelling all my reservations.
Walter has successfully bridged the seemingly
impossible gap between vocals and instrumental
electronics with a flowing concept album.

That was thousands of albums ago and hearing it 30 years on,
Alice sounds as timeless as ever.
The original form eluded a CD release and in a positive way,
it still does. It was great preparing this classic from a fan and
collector to other peers.

Interview - Robert Rich on sound design et. al.
EM News Poster: BruecknerAmbient - Date: Mon Jun 26, 2017 5:51 pm

Recently, another interview with Robert was published on the page of Dave Smith Instruments (actually, it seems to have taken place one or two years ago...).

While most of his interviews make for an interesting read, this one is rather special in that Robert talks more specifically about (his) sound design techniques here (of course - in that context - especially as far as the use of the Dave Smith products is concerned, but not only...).

So, recommended for aspiring ambient artists (for example...).
