syndae - episode 398
EM News Poster: treibklang - Date: Fri Aug 11, 2017 8:00 pm
So I read today about "success" in the area of bio-hacking. It manages to encode malware into a DNA strand that will infect software with a computer virus when analysed. Ain't this world crazy? Now, what if you would encode a music track into your DNA that will start playing whenever you are being scanned? That I would like. Passing through the security gates at a terminal and the system starts playing your favourite song. Really sounds like fun to me, maybe not so to the security personnel. However, talking about crazy. Tonight's selection of tracks may not be crazy, but they definitely have the magic to tickle your cochleas. Enjoy the wonderful tracks by weldroid (EXPTIME), MacroNoise (Caravan Planet), Protuberance (Music for Elevators Vol. 5 Part 1), SubCarrier (Field Emitter), and Antam Yar ft. Digital Skunk (Future Horizons: The Lanquidity).

['ramp] -- synchronize or die
New releases Poster: dronescape - Date: Tue Aug 08, 2017 10:58 am
Hi all,

after five years of silence, I am delighted to present ['ramp]'s tenth release to you: synchronize or die. In order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of ramp's first-ever live concert in 1997 and celebrate twenty years of unsolicited noise, the album will be released officially on 29th august 2017.

Those past twenty years were busy not only in terms of musical adventures: artistically and personally, some more or less desired changes took place, and here and there some obstacles and new challenges had to be dealt with – not only on a musical level.

This was the very reason why i decided to pull all plugs after the 2012 concert performance at bochum planetarium and the subsequent album release astral disaster: I simply realized I was running out of stamina and steam as the past ten years had taken their toll on me. Rather than carrying on, releasing half-baked albums just for the sake of it, I decided to have a sabbatical for an indefinite period of time, to recover from the strain and to focus on new musical visions.

synchronize or die is the result of this sabbatical. I decided to elaborate on the technique I had discovered for creating complex sequencer tracks and multi-layered rhythmical patterns, without employing computers running audio software: making use of some old-fashioned synchronizers from the 1980s, I recorded multiple layers of sequences onto a digital eight-track recorder, using a clicktrack to tie in additional sequencers while overdubbing or mixing down to stereo. This is the reason why the trusty old friendchip src units adorn the album sleeve.

Most of the tracks were created on my own in the seclusion of my dachgeschoss recording space, with one notable exception: Torque was created in collaboration with fellow synthesiser enthusiast Axel Jungkunst who helped me out with his massive modular synthesiser rig and additional sequencer backings which resulted in one of ['ramp]'s most accessible titles of all time – whate... 1 Ear 2 Hear - Gary Numan Special
EM News Poster: TangerineMan - Date: Sat Aug 05, 2017 3:00 am
Hi Folks,

With the recent whirlwind that Gary is caught up in with his new promotion of his latest album: Savage and a mini tour I decided to schedule an impromptu show on the 4th August @ 10pm. The show was replayed at midnight and will play again tonight at 10pm again. Feel free to tune in and hear a collection of Gary's tunes, a special intro he made for my show and 2 new tracks from his latest album. I met Gary at one of his recent rehearsal days in London and witnessed an awesome live show at Standon Calling last weekend. Paul Rigby helped promote this show and this is his link:
http://theaudiophileman.com/gary-numan/
The link to the show is here:http://mixlr.com/1-ear-2-hear/ or by going directly to: www.1i2c.com and using the player in the centre of the webpage.

The show just runs over an hour.

Download only, sadly. But as I'm kind of a Helpling completist, I guess I'll buy this eventually.

Anyone else?

Happy 70th birthday, Klaus Schulze
EM News Poster: dronescape - Date: Fri Aug 04, 2017 9:26 am
I'd never have thought I'd be the first one to write this but:

Happy 70th birthday, KS, and good health!

Even though I could never warm up to your work past 1978, I found your early music very inspiring and liberating. Thank you for this.

Pop open a bottle of Vita Buer-Lecithin and down with it!

Recently I got a message from a Guy who was the website Reddit where the following has been discussed. It is about an old video from 2013 where I demonstrate some sounds for the Roland V-synth:

https://youtu.be/udAtD-EhH10?t=1m28s

Now the London based artist, Burial, has made the track "Nightmarket".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMR7ZA9NHG4

That is nice, but it is clear to me that he sampled a rif from that video without asked permission and/or referring to the original content.

Starting a lawsuit is not the case and not interesting either. Being proud and honorable that he used my music either. What do you think?
