|Thaneco - "Oceanides" Ambient/Berlin-sch./Melodic
||Poster: thaneco - Date: Wed Sep 20, 2017 1:04 pm
|Hello to everyone in this lovely forum. I would like to let you know about my new album that is recently released in bandcamp as a digital download and is called "Oceanides" .
Oceanides (or Oceanids) where ancient greek goddesses-nymphs that lived in the sea, the forrest, the rivers, and the clouds. There where thousands of them. I was very inspired by the stories of these goddesses and decided to compose this concept album. I decided to choose eight oceanids and write eight "musical portraits" to represent them. I hope you will enjoy my music and support me. Thanks!!

|Boy, this week definitely has earned me some off-time. And here I go with some music to reset my brain. It's not at all feature-less music, though. But it should trigger the right neurons to depart from this world and leave all the heat behind. Join me, if you like, take a seat and detach yourself from being busy. Nothing else to say at this point, simply dive into the tracks by Howard Givens & Craig Padilla (Being of Light), Jim Ottaway (Deep Space Blue), Aliensporebomb (Totality: Eclipse Music), Daniel Barbiero & Cristiano Bocci (Non-Places), and Volei (Wander in the Warm).
A place of rest on

|Michael BrĂĽckner - "Newsletter" (various updates)
||Poster: BruecknerAmbient - Date: Fri Sep 08, 2017 4:45 pm
|Just posted this update about my humble musical endeavours (some of them also involving some musical friends) over at FB and thought maybe it's also of interest to some of You here...
At the moment it seems to be a good time to finally finish a couple of musical projects that have (rather) silently been growing in the pipeline for months, partly even years. Some of them (most, actually) will - provided everything works out as planned - see the light of day still this year...
I have just finished working on the covers of two new albums (one of them featuring amazing artwork by masterful fantasy artist Andreas Schwietzke) - one of them will be my next release on Syngate, entitled "Trees of Olivandá" - quite a traditional EM offering, lot's of sequencing, soloing and chirping space effects.
The other one will be the debut album of "La Mansarde Hermétique" (the ambient/electronica improvisation duo constituted of Mathias Brüssel and myself...). There will be a free digital release of "The Hâunted Attic" on a net label (not entirely sure which one at the moment, will be announced soon) - and we're probably offer a small CD-r edition via Bandcamp (because we like the complete CD artwork so much... 🤣 )
Another project which - just like the other two - is already completely recorded and mastered and in fact is just waiting for it's turn to be released by the label (still secret which one!) is a deep ambient opus with beautiful melodic, and partly "cinematic" passages, by Hans-Dieter Schmidt and myself.
Actually, I'm looking ESPECIALLY much forward to this release - it will be on REAL (industrially pressed) CD, it was mastered by a master of his trade, and is in my opinion one of the best albums I have been involved so far - I'm really proud of it!
Concerning this project, it also has to be announced that we decided to release it (and hopefully more albums in the future) un... (Read More)

|GR - 234 - Zanov – Moebius 256301 (40th anniversary editio

|GR - 234 - Zanov – Moebius 256301 (40th anniversary edition)
I am glad to announce the 3rd re-release of Zanov on Groove Unlimited.
GR - 234 - Zanov – Moebius 256301 (40th anniversary edition)
It should be available next week.
Zanov, strongly influenced by his own scientific background, always
attempted to connect some scientific concepts such as chaos theory,
fractals and complexity theory with his music. Its influence appeared
in 1977 while experimenting with some three counts patterns sequencers
that changed almost unnoticed to four counts pattern sequences and
reverse. This process made Zanov think of the Moebius endless loop
which shifts unnoticed from one face to the other and appears as the
album’s cover art.
“Moebius 256301” continues the soundscapes introduced on “Green Ray”
with new melodic elements creating another immersive aural experience,
this is its brief history. In December 1976 Zanov expanded his
synthesizer set up with a new ARP2600 with sequencer. 1977 shaped up
as a busy year expanding Zanov’s musical realm with a series of live
performances and more instruments offering new musical possibilities.
“An Zero” was the first composition completed for Moebius while
preparing for his first live concert at the Paris Laser Olympia in March 1977.
After “Green Ray”, the record label requested shorter compositions to
promote the album and from a dozen sound sketches only “Moebius
256301” and “Enygma” ended up on the album. During a live tour in June
1977 Zanov purchased the RMI Harmonic synthesiser used for the first
time during the Paris Planetarium concerts which also inspired his
personal favourite composition “Plenitude”, the only album track the
RMI was used on. “Moebius 256301” was completed eventually at the end
of 1977 setting the scene for more concerts in the following year and
for the follow-up album “In Course of time”, but that’s another sto... (Read More)

|PANO II - Ambient Compilation (various artists)
||Poster: BruecknerAmbient - Date: Fri Sep 01, 2017 6:45 pm
Today the follow-up of 2015's very nice PANO compilation was released by the Australia-based independent label E-Con Records, curated (again) by musician, designer and E-Con mastermind Troy Masters (sic!).
I'll just double Troy's promo text / liner notes here:

A B O U T || This Release
Ladies & Gentleman, we present to you, PANO II. The follow-up to 2015's masterful double album, PANO.
The concept behind the original Pano was to find a series of breathtaking, Panoramic images and hand them over to some of the world's most talented ambient musicians to interpret as long form, musical compositions. Their goal was to find the soul within these stunning vistas and give them a voice so that they may all talk and sing in their own unique language for the first time.
With PANO II, we have focused our attention down into the microscopic world to explore a land often unseen, but one that reverberates into the macro landscapes we inhabit... and they are every bit as expansive, beautiful, and bewildering. Please join us now and take a peek at the wiring under the board at the biggest mystery we know of. The very fabric of our reality.
An extremely limited run of discs may soon be available for est $15 AUD plus postage and handling... but we will need at least 10 expressions of interest to make it worthwhile. Contact us at email@example.com for more information.

|BrĂĽckner - Re-releases on BC for August
||Poster: BruecknerAmbient - Date: Thu Aug 31, 2017 6:13 pm
|In the meanwhile, maintenance work at BrĂĽckner's continues as planned...
The next trio of old Brückner albums has been added to Bandcamp. What do we have this time…?
CHALLENGE 29 (2007)
Some sort of contemporary electronica album, often with dance beats, sometimes slightly weird and experimental, sometimes more melodic and accessible.
I always thought this was one of the better things I managed to put together, actually
Another album I always had been rather fond of; for some reason I felt it sounded somewhat „Japanese“. It contains a rather odd mix of contemporary electronica, dance, electro-jazz, ambient and „ethnic“ flavours.
One track features Wolfgang Bechtluft and Reinhold Krämer, my band mates in B4 SUNRISE….
MELODIKA (1997 / 1998) - unlike the other two albums I regard this as one of my lesser albums, from a short period when I returned to new age instrumental music etc.
It offers some nice tunes still and is otherwise perhaps only of interest for „Brückner completists“ (I doubt though that such people do exist ).
Please note that the digital version is FREE ( = name your price).
Incidentally, it also has a (bonus) track that features Wolfgang Bechtluft, or rather: it was a tune by him, re-arranged by me (as far as I remember).
I think a (completely) different version is on our collaboration „Lost In The City“ from 2003 (to be re-released at some later point, I hope…).
More detailed info can be found on the albums’ BC pages - ENJOY!
