A live concert by J-MR in the youtube
Posted Mon Jan 14, 2019 1:58 pm by cyberiad2001
EM News Hi!

You should check this out. JuhaMatti Rautiainen Soundscapes did a small gig in his workplace a few days ago. The camera is static, but at least you get a good view of what he is doing. The only instrument is a bass guitar and loads of fx (also a couple of field recordings, looped). It's absolutely fantastic set of high quality ambient... Most of the material is from his latest album. A fantastic musician and really a true live concert with the help of technology. The sound is excellent...

Cheers,
Ami

Heavy Sunrise - Six New EPs - Ambient Guitar
Posted Sat Jan 12, 2019 4:52 pm by heavysunrise
New releases Heavy Sunrise have released six new ambient guitar-based EPs.

You can check them out here: https://heavysunrise.com

Stay noisy.

Adam - Heavy Sunrise

-----------------------------------------------

Adam Cooper is an American textural guitarist, songwriter, record producer, engineer, and experimental noise-maker living in the Arizona desert.

Heavy Sunrise centers around the electric guitar, a vintage Digitech PDS8000 Delay/Looper pedal, a handful of eclectic stompboxes, extreme volume, and Ableton Live to generate hazy, hypnotic textures and warped and wobbly tones.

Cooper's songwriting and incendiary guitar work in famed 90s shoegazing outfit, Alison's Halo, laid the foundation for much of the effects-laden music on these latest recordings. The recording, production, and mixing techniques he employed working on Alison's Halo debut "Eyedazzler," Astrobrite's ground-breaking "Crush" LP, and - more recently - with Latvia's dreampop legends, Tribes Of The City, helped to further shape and sculpt Heavy Sunrise's spacey soundtrack-esque symphonies.

Heavy Sunrise's cinematic, otherworldly compositions have been described by SomewhereCold (USA) as being able to "transport the listener to another vast universe, with all its colorful nebulae and alien environments."

As a child growing up during the fading years of the space race, Cooper's earliest memories are those of grainy black and white photos and blown-out color footage of astronauts, cosmonauts, NASA's mission control screens, experimental aircraft, rockets, bleeping satellites, and epic missions to the moon. These indelible images, along with the excitement of new technology, the wild spirit of exploration, and the vast - and lonely - expanse of space, are all equally embedded and thoughtfully balanced within his music.

From the sensation of drifting weightlessly, to being caught in the roaring blast of a Cape Canaveral rocket launch, Heavy Sunrise leaves l . . .

syndae - episode 462
Posted Fri Jan 11, 2019 8:00 pm by treibklang
EM News So our planet did it and completed another round through space orbiting that bright star in midth of the solar system. And I am quite curious what's up for the next full circle (or rather ellipse). What surely is up is a series of podcast editions of syndae. And I am excited to present more magnificent ambient and electronic music to you all. If I would do any resolution (which I don't), it's to not stop promoting all these great artists waiting to be heard. Starting out tonight with an exciting selection of such artists and tracks of their latest releases, who are Smooth Genestar (RĂ©trospectif), Mark Dorricott & Stan Dart (Seaside), GreatOwl (Lilia Sin Mi), Sephira (The Master Work), Globular (The Context), and F.I.E.L.D.Y (Tree of Life).

Ready for more turns with

(Cool) Steve Roach Interview from 1987
Posted Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:15 pm by BruecknerAmbient
EM News Since this interview amazed long-time Roach fan, music reviewer Richard GĂŒrtler (apparently he had not read it before) I guess it might be of interest to other Roach listeners as well.

Richard said:

"Wow, I just have been navigated to this article by kindred soul Gilles BĂ©dard, merci beaucoup Monsieur!!! A must-read interview with Steve Roach from 1987 for Music Technology magazine (Sep 1987 issue, conducted by Bob O'Donnell), prior to his legendary trip to Australia together with David Stahl, who was working on his documentary project "Art Of The Dreamtime". Yes, these were the days and months when one of the most groundbreaking recordings in the history of electronic music was carved, "Dreamtime Return".

Gilles BĂ©dard:
A look back to Steve's thought on Sound and technology on the eve of releasing Dreamtime Return. Great interview!"
