You haven't even heard a single note of it...

Although I'm a bit skeptical based on JMJ's output in the last decades, I am curious to hear his new take on one of my favorite albums ever. It might however be yet another dance/trance album released 20 years late. Wink

Sounds promising.

The first minute and a half put me in mind of Vangelis !!!

It'll be interesting watching this one unfold in the coming months prior to it's release... Wink

Jarre describes this album as Equinoxe on steroids

When I read this I inmediately thought about a dance or trance version of Equinoxe. And I was obviously frightened. But after listening to the Vangelis-esque teaser of the first track, I still have faith.

Crossing fingers...

Well, I'm looking forward to it. I like the cover, and in fact I also liked the last two or three releases by JMJ...

Of course, hopes that it could top (or even only reach) the lofty heights of the original Equinoxe are small, then again it might be an interesting listen anyway... Wink

Apparently, he still hasn't disposed of that hernia-inducing CS80...

I think this was the first Jarre track I could stand listening to in -- how many? Fifteen? -- years.

So what? You mean I can't write "cool" if I haven't listened to it?

I mean it looks like a COOL project.

Wow, praise indeed Wink !!

This certainly looks to be an intriguing project, hopefully not too much pappy synth pop.

Very Happy Yes, pappy synth pop, this is it Smile

Now, indeed this track is good, not exactly completely new (but let's not expect this, this is not reasonable). This seems better than Oxygene 3 which is anything but not oxygene....

Does anybody here know why Equinoxe Infinity is available for sale on Amazon.co.uk but not on Amazon.fr ? Confused As a pre-order, I mean.

It is ok... I really miss the Oxygene sound. This is very different from Oxygene 1-13. I really wonder why he called the CD Oxygene.

Bad luck...

I gave it a first spin and it sounded like a collection of leftovers from the Revolutions - Cousteau era. It has absolutely nothing to do with Equinoxe. Not with the compositional style of that album, nor with overall mood of Equinoxe.

I can't say I was disappointed, as my expectations for new Jarre music aren't that high anymore. But I have no clue why he released this, and why he thought of abusing the Equinoxe title.

I like it. And every spin the album grows in me.

Maybe the issue here (not only here, but everywhere in music... and in life) is expectations. Big expectations. But I don't care about the title, just about the music. I don't look at the title, I don't mind if it's Equinoxe or Ommadawn or Albedo 0.39 or Timewind.

For me it sounds fresh. Just my two cents.

Each and every listener has (and should have, in fact) a different oppinion.

All in all, it's music Cool

Thanks, that was interesting - particularly about his creative process with the artwork first, then the music, for Equinox infinity. I wonder if any other artists - here included - so something like this?

I concur Daniel.

Listened to it for the first time this evening (well actually 3 times thus far....)

Nice, and unlike Oxygene 3,
I had no problem with the sound/mastering.

Jarre's put a good album out here,
a little on the short side perhaps, but for me certainly a keeper.... Wink

I don't think it's too bad, nowhere near as good as Oxygene 3, but still a rather enjoyable album, very nice on headphones.

I loved it. I only have 2 caveats :

1) In track 1, there is a sound that is too close to noise for my tastes

2) Track 8 is Coachella Opening. So, I bought it twice : in PlanetJarre and in Equinoxe Infinity. If I could have known that it would be recycled in Equinoxe Infinity, I wouldn't have bought the single track in PlanetJarre in the first place (and for the hefty price 2€49 !).

Otherwise, I think Equinoxe Infinity is a real delight to listen to. I never got bored once and I love all the tracks.
