"Manu, Manu, haste dit jehört? Da ha' ick mir voll vaspielt, und die da unten klatschen ooch noch." (KS backstage, Cologne 1991)

"Manu, Manu, did you hear that? I played lots of bum notes, and the fellows down there even applaud to it."

Unfortunately that's true for many, many EM concerts. And in KS's case also for his studio albums...

Try as I might over the years I've always struggled with Klaus Schulze's 90's sampling period. The Dome Event and Royal Festival Hall albums come to mind.

Given when they were made, they were probably very cutting edge at the time, but a difficult listen none the less. Far too much sampling IMHO....

I'm 100% sure Dronescape hasn't played a bum note in his life.

These days hearing the odd bum note at a concert is actually quite reassuring that what you're hearing is in fact live.... Laughing

From memory.... wasn't Tangerine Dream's Phaedra one long bum note as the Moog went way out of tune while they were recording? Serendipity? Wink

"People wouldn't recognize good music even if it came right up to them and bit them in their ass." (Frank Zappa)

Sometimes I can't help thinking an undemanding audience is the best way to success.
