mine arrived yesterday - not listened to it all, but no glitches so far.

Wish they had not put the '40th anniversary' circle on the front cover......

For me, Picture Music was a stunner from the day one... The previous work was very cool, but at that point he really nailed it... The sum is so much greater than the individual parts... In that a total reverse of what he (and most old heroes, especially TD) did from the mid 80's on. Having said that, i love some of individual tracks of the latter years and somehow i find his Ballet series quite good... It seems like he has resigned to the situation and just lets the music out, a very honest set. DSotM was great series and the historical box sets are fantastic; so much stuff and most of it really really good. In my opinion his best work as an album is Mirage... Timewind and the Live are very close.

Seren said he wishes there wasn't a 40th Anniversary logo on the front cover but that is the only way to tell the difference between the first 2 reissues.

Yes, there actually was 2 reissues. The first one sounds awful with all those glitches and the second one, this time with simulated LP groves was cleaned up and sounds a little better.

This is actually the third reissue.

But for me it is #4 because I have the original Bolt version too.

OK, thanks for the answer.

Could you elaborate a bit more why you like it?
The sound? Clearer, louder, darker, yellower? Very Happy

I think it is worth getting - mainly as the glitches have been ironed out in the sound which means I can actually listen to it......

I also like having the card covers of the more recent releases.
