If listening "blindfold" amongst several other albums,
I could certainly pick it out as a Klaus Schulze album.... Wink

That's becuase he's playing the same 2 chords for the last 30 years or so.

I can't argue with you on that one VC01.... Laughing

It does beg the question,
if an unknown artist had released Silhouettes,
would it sell nearly as many copies?

Would it have put a new artist on the map as their first album?

Perhaps a bit like TD later on,
the name was/is selling the music,
rather than the other way around.... Wink

I gave up on TD completely about 8 years ago,
the music was basically not that good,
and I was hearing EM from lesser known or even new artists,
that was far better than what TD were releasing.

It took me a while to realise, and in fact accept that...
.... I guess loyalty had been trumping what in reality my own ears were telling me... Rolling Eyes

That's all totally in my own humble opinion of course.... Wink

So no offence intended to anyone still following TD.

Shame on all this negative feedback. The man is in poor health but he wanted to say thanks to his fans by recording what most likely will be his last release.

Were that the case he could have put it out as a free/inexpensive bandcamp download.

Sorry, but why for free, when there are hundred of tons of more than s**t electronic music nowadays on Bandcamp for quite expensive price (7-10 Euros or GBP just for the download!) or 20-30 GBPs or Euros for Limited Edition vinyls with the same s**t music?
And many of the true Schulze fans love this album, and the album has mainly positive feedbacks on the internet! Ok, for someone who is “just” an electronic music fan it can be a “lighter” album, but i (and many, many others) still thinks that is a quite solid album! OK, it’s not Mirage, but it would be boring (IMHO) to hear in 46 years over 100 Mirages. But of course, everyone has His / Her taste! The Limited box was of course expensive (not for a true KS fan), but to give the music free? Why? Just because some people don’t like it? I for example didn’t like at all The Rolling Stones’ or Yes’ music, but it’s my opinion, and this not means that they need to give away for free their music!

I was responding to the quaint idea this was a thanks & bye bye to his fans, that's all.

(BTW I am a fan and I don't necessarily dislike this release)

It says right on the inside cover:

"I want to thank each and everyone of my fans …"

He goes on saying he is feeling better but is he really?

I for one hopes he really is.
