Jean Michel Jarre - Planet Jarre (2cd "deluxe" version)

title is wrong for this compilation though. should have been called - Cash-In Jarre

metamorphoses album is also being re-released tomorrow!

As is Geometry of Love, which has been unavailable for a very long time if I'm not mistaken.

Finally went for it in the end and ordered Planet Jarre (2CD version).

One thing's got me confused however.... Confused
The running time on the first disc is 83:51, and on the second one 80:21.

I didn't think this was possible on a factory pressed CD?

Over the years I've managed to push CD-R's to 81 or 82 minutes by over burning,
but I've always assumed the absolute top end for a factory pressed CD was 80 minutes?

Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

Has Jarre actually managed to redefine the capacity of the humble CD ?? Shocked

Being the Great Grand Master TM, endowed with super-human powers, he can do almost anything.

This, or the CD won't play properly with most (ancient) players.

That's exactly what I was thinking Stephen Laughing

Jarre's superhuman powers must in some way be involved here....
..... or perhaps it could be
(and I hesitate at suggesting the mere thought of it) a typing error... Neutral

On Qobuz : Coachella opening, Herbalizer, Music for Supermarkets (excerpt) and AOR bleu (excerpt).

I love these tracks. Only two things disappointed me : their excessive price and the fact that the two "excerpts" are far too short. At last, we get some MFS officially, in good, professional sound quality, but we get ... two minutes ! A shame.

Lisa Gerrard & David Kuckhermann : Hiraeth.

I advise all the fans that had been discouraged by the depression inherent in Twilight Kingdom to give Lisa another chance. This gem is a must-have IMHO. If you like the sound of the hang drum and Lisa's voice, you'll love this solar, rhythmic, innovative album. Unfortunately, like Twilight Kingdom, it is only available as a download. As, for me, MP3 is unacceptable, I bought the wav files on Qobuz.

I first heard of Qobuz at the weekend - is it worth the £19.99 a month?

I have no subscription (this is for people interested in lossless streaming, I believe), so, I don't know. I only buy an album from time to time. For a lossless music lover, Qobuz is a must.
