Listening to the first track, I felt I could figure out better now who composed what on the last Node album...

i have collaborated with Dave twice, but, i do not think i can tell who composed what on NODE Live...
Well, I didn't check in detail which track(s) I was reminded of, but there are certain harmonies on - I think - Node 2 which move in chromatic steps (or something) which are quite original (or at least I thought so) and which are similar to the opening track of Your new album. Not identical, of course, but somewhat in the same vein. Not sure, but I thought I could detect Dr. Dave's handwriting here...

new great review of Dystopia from Bert Strolenberg (www.sonicimmersion.org) : Parallel Worlds & Dave Bessell – Dystopia
CD/Digital Download, DiN, 2018
The title of the duos second distance collaboration already suggests dark electronics -a style Bakis Sirros (aka Parallel Worlds) and Dave Bessell both appreciate a lot- and that’s what the listeners can expect here. As their debut “Morphogenic” already proved, Bakis has quite an intuitive approach to writing his music, giving Dave the opportunity to add some traditional classical skills to that. The original idea (a tribute to gothic novel writer HP Lovecraft) to have a definite theme which ran all the way through “Dystopia” didn't really work as both musicians quite soon felt restricted in what they were trying to write so very quickly they abandoned that and let the music guide them instead. The latter process saw Bakis playing his Buchla, Serge, and, (mostly) his big Eurorack modular -which is now his 'to go' synth- while Dave applied his analogue synths and e-guitar for special guitar soundscapes. The mood and feel on the eight track/60-minute result is one of a darkening future as well as a certain sense of remorse dripping through the crispy yet organic sounds, textures and melodic lines. Haunting, intriguing and gothic also apply to the duos work full of fat but mellow vintage sonic creations and sequences, adding a level of gloominess and surrealism as well as an abstract-industrial edge to the sound of ARC (if one wants a kind of comparison). Can’t deny I’d love to see these creative spirits perform their stuff live somehow, sometime.... (rating 3.5 stars, out of 5)

new great review from Andy Gee (Inkeys) :
https://web.facebook.com/inkeys/
PARALLEL WORLDS & DAVE BESSELL – Dystopia Album
Synth music album on the ever consistent DiN label, and it's awesome.
The reason for this is because it's such a busy set of tracks.
Throughout the album's 8 tracks in just over an hour, the way the duo take layers of music across a myriad rhythms, melodies and atmospheres, to create a set of musical worlds where nothing ever stands still or repeats itself, yet at the same time, flows freely and strongly is nothing short of breathtaking. Although in the melodic/rhythmic vein, you're never really conscious of actual “tunes”, largely since the pieces all possess a certain twisting and turning quality, to which is added moods that range from the brooding spectre that is “Underclouds” to the almost symphonic qualities of “Cipher”.
The near 9 minute “Into The Distance” starts serenely enough with streams of cosmic bliss, echoes from another galaxy far away and the overall feel of deep space before slowly coalescing the approaching rhythm within its charms, still drifting but now with the engines running to give added strength and propulsion, as more sonic textures and layers are added, a bell-like melody rings out and suddenly the giant spacecraft is on its way to infinity, the whisper now a roar as the whole thing comes to life and you're in for a ride across space and time.
Just one example of the many musical worlds that await. The equally near 9 minute “Forest of Stars” begins angrily enough with menacing darkness to its electronic density before the mood eventually lightens and it's like coming out of the other side of a black hole, into a new world of light and rich in atmosphere, allowing you to breathe and take in the joys that surround, as electronic rhythms with the lightest touvh marry what sounds almost like a sustained guitar refrain against a backdrop of occasionally booming rhythmic splashes. All of a sudden, an electro-percussive sea of rhythms kicks in and takes the, now even more menacing track, into ever deeper territories, the fuzzed synth leads intertwining with the cosmic drift as rolling electronic/percussive rhythms propel it all....... to a complete stop......whereupon you then circle the sun in shining layers of fathomless space synths, underpinned by hinted rhythms, driven by electro-percussive backdrops and eventually falling into the sun to be lost forever.
“Mutagen” is a quite lively, explosive piece, as with all the tracks on this album, full to the brim with electronic layers and textures, this time with a sea of more undulating rhythms, in themselves, many and varied, as new melodic layers are added and the whole thing becomes this giant example of synth music exploration on a galactic scale.
Sometimes it hints of the Classic intros to Tangerine Dream epics, most notably the opening track, but overall, this is synth msuic that breaks the mould in that it's somehow familiar, hugely busy, incredibly accessible, yet has so much going on within its structure, you'll find yourself returning to it, play after play after play – as refreshing as a summer's day and as adventurous as a trip to Mars, this is riveting from start to finish.
