TD fans shared that over at FB today and I thought it's a nice read…

"I was a really terrible keyboard player. I still am."

I'm happy to learn that after all there's at last this one thing I have in common with Mr. Baumann... Laughing

There is some true magic in what they made in early 70ies.

Smile ...well, seems that he is a "downplayer" too... he´s not that bad in my opinion. And he could play nice leads if not chords rather early on (Ultima Thule pt 1 was his first recording in TD, just before the Zeit sessions).

I have always liked this synth solo of his, quite a cool moment of precise and fluid real-time playing, from his Leda album, 1978. The solo starts at 1.57

A peculiar career. He was totally out of the music business for more than 20 years or so after selling Private Music, and then suddenly returned with Machines Of Desire. I remember it was almost like people didn't know if he was still alive. :-O

A bit like Giorgio Moroder, another synth wizard who returned to the limelight after being invisible.

Thanks for that link!
Oh, PB is my favourite TD:er. To me, the Baumann era was the TD pinnacle.
Also interesting to read how much he enjoyed the TD time:
"My memories of being in the band are overwhelmingly good ones."
