I just did a search and found out it sells for $3500 ..... ouch!

I mentioned KORG but I forgot to mention BEHRINGER. They too have a great version of the Odyssey complete with effects and step sequencer for $500.

So, keeping my fingers crossed that this will happen soon because time is running out at 66.

Yeah, I would sure like a full scale clone of the 2600. The TTSH is a bit on the smallest side. Hope Korg does it, I don't like Behringer's versions.

Korg made a pretty poor job of the Odyssey.

I'm saving some cash (and hope) for a Behringer 2600. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd already be working on one.

Why do you think that?

Because I bought one.

What makes it pretty poor to you, softroom? I have one for 4 years now. The build quality could have been better, but the sound is what I expected from it.

I have seen the new Behringer version only on the web. I wonder if this is better in sound.

I have a slider that's going crackly already and the sliders themselves just don't inspire confidence. I got the module and was kinda disappointed that the 'legato' trick in the manual doesn't work for it. When I asked Korg they just said 'yeah, sorry'.

I thought the MIDI implementation sucked too - oh and while I appreciate the filter choices, I'd really have loved them to have added the common LFO fix that a lot of us old Odyssey owners always had to get done.

I'm old though and moan a lot. Smile The longer sliders of the Behringer look promising, not tried one though.

I have two concerns about the KARP, and that is

1. The lack of switches for Mono/Duo -phony and Single/Multiple triggering. I know this can be patched on the rear, but I want switches on the front.

2. The "digital" power-on button. I want a toggle switch.

Apart from that, I'm happy with it.

Don't ask me why but I own both the scaled and full size versions of the KARP and I find the F/S sounds a little more powerful than the scaled down version.

The F/S version comes with the SQ-1 Step Sequencer that sports the ARP logo that the scaled down version doesn't.

The scaled down version comes with a really nice carrying case that the F/S doesn't.

It could be just a psychological "size matters thing" that smaller keys give less power but in the end they both represent the ARP Odyssey very well and they both sound great!

Just add some effects and listen to them roar.

Bring on the ARP 2600 and make this old musician a very happy old man!

Three months after this last post Korg released a F/S ARP 2600 and after waiting seven more months my 2600 will be here in my studio sometime tomorrow.

You Tube has the new ARP 2600 to view as well as a "unboxing" video.

It also comes in a flight case and the total weight is well over 100lbs.
