On 16th (or 30th) of October we will get a new TD megabox, called Pilots of Purple Twilight:The Virgin Years 1980-1983.
10 CD set, including the whole Dominion concert (from original Manor Tapes) on 2 CDs, one CD with music from The Soldier and one CD with the music from The Keep (also from the original Master tapes) + 6 regular albums, with bonus tracks on 3 of them. No bonus tracks on Tangram, Logos and Exit. Bonus tracks on Thief, White Eagle and Hyperborea (from the original Master Tapes too).

Per-orders can be made on Amazon.uk and CDS Dundee

Reminds me that after more than ten years, I still never accomplished to listen to the complete Tangerine Tree yet...

Thanks for the heads-up.

Looks as if my favourite era of TD has been covered completely by this second box set.

Great news!

I've just checked it on amazon.uk and the selling price for the CD box is 100 UK pounds Sad and then I've gone to amazon.es and I can pre-order it in mp3... for only 24 euros.

Nonsense.

I must admit that for me the most interesting thing is the whole Dominion concert and I prefer CDs to mp3, but the price is too high IMHO for "only" 10 CDs. If at least the box included a DVD or Blue-Ray with the London concert...

For example, "In Search Of Hades" (16CD+ 2 Blu-Ray) is available for 124 euros. Higher but more reasonable, I think.

A must buy! Too bad there's virtually no new music for a serious fan, but hopefully the sound quality makes up for that. Won't be rushing to buy this, though, like i did in the case of the ISOH box. Can wait for a better price when the first wave of interest is over...

124 Euros for the Hades box is a steal -- the normal price here in Germany is 149 Euros or above, depending on where you order it.

110 Euros (the price quoted here in Germany, though it's provisional) seems reasonable -- that's a tenner per CD and some extra quid for a badly researched book (which I presume it to be, unless the writer of the previous book did his homework assignment properly this time around).

Keeping my fingers crossed for some nice photos to be included, though.

Stephen

What's the point of CD8 (Logos) when the full version of the concert is on CDs 6 & 7?

It's aimed at those who can't stand The Full Monty.

So do I. The only "new" music for me would be the whole London concert, the rest of supposed "bonus" tracks have been already available decades ago. If they would have released a pack only with the London concert, for example 2 CDs + DVD, I would have inmediately bought it. But I presume squeezing the fans with boxes like these is more profitable Rolling Eyes

@electrobs: what made you decide to post the POPT announcement here (Syndae)?

Cos 6 & 7 aren't the evening show, they apparently come from the afternoon gig
