I have a weakness for the late Patrick Cowley simply because I like his music.
Anybody else ?

I have one or two of his records, but... he is well noted for his remix of Donna Summer's - I Feel Love on the Casablanca label (FEEL 1, 1982)
and his album and single Megatron Man (1981)

That track is genius, it was originally made by Giorgo Moroder but this remix, even though not adding that much, just rocks so hard.
Also a genius track is Sea Hunt, really mysterious and deep...it has this old Star Trek theme tune atmosphere and seagull sounds!
Synthesizers that he used were the EMU modular, Serge and Electrocomps...pretty obscure stuff.
Sadly he was one of the first people that died of HIV in the early 80s.

Both his solo albums are great. Plenty of nice fat analogue sounds and sequences!

Cowley, Moroder and Bobby O pretty much made Italo by themselves.

We can agree on that at least (though if we're talking about artists nicking ideas from others, I think Bobby O is certainly no saint there ).
