Hi all,

if you´re tired with waiting for the next official ['ramp] album "return", you might like to spend your time on the new download-only EP "Electric Karma":

http://iapetus-store.com/album/electric-karma

Yamaha CS80, electronic tabla, loop devices, ARP Sequencer, plus some other embellishments (ARP 2600, Roland VP-330, Prophet VS).

Enjoy (or not),

Stephen.

Hi Stephen:

Since I don't do downloads, how can I get this on CD in one of the usual nifty, labeled black clamshell cases? (reply to my email addy directly if you like).

I think it's quite bad PR that you're telling that

Quote:
due to the improvised, straight-to-dat technique i used, there are some minor problems with line balancing and overloading the input of either the desk or the reverbs which i had to tweak on the fly while recording it. i tried my best to remove these from the music, apologies for some minor flaws.

and still ask 10 euro for this.

That really doesn't help much in giving EM that professional image that we all want so badly.

Already the next?
If You speed up a littler more, You'll overtake Phrozenlight in the end...

Wink

Btw. I'm just a-listening to it, from the iapetus player, that is: for free, so the 10 Euros don't really bother me at the moment.

I suggest that You ask 20 Euros for all Your other albums, so people see that it's a budget price Wink

And as for the bad PR I suggest to include the Doepfer Dark Energy (or something...the Metasonix TM-7 Scrotum Smasher maybe...) on Your equipment list, so everytime people hear distortion, they go "Wow - raw analogue power..."

P.S.

Incidentally, I just stumbled upon this quotation:

"I must apologize for any background noise or possible distortion, but I wanted to keep the narrative character of the recordings rather than to edit the music or to make cuts due to technical concerns..."

Who wrote that? Hm..? Hm...?

I'll tell You, the guys name is Manuel Göttsching.

Man, at least HE should care for the professional image of EM, now, shouldn't he?

Twisted Evil

Ah, by the way, the recordings in question are contained in a 5-CD box which sells for 50 Euros, which is 10 Euros each. So, Stephen's is cheaper...

@Darren: I´ll send you one with the next batch of promotional stuff (but no clamshells as, alas, I´m out of materials and currently not planning to stock more than necessary);

@Michael: Thanks for your comments and the Goettsching quote -- no further questions;

@Stef: Thanks for your insight and for sharing yourself with us. Much appreciated.

Stephen

Hi all,

as a little season's gift, I have made the ['ramp] EP "electric karma" available as a digital FLAC download album. It's Christmas, and it's free (you can donate if you feel so inclined but you don't need to):

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/electric-karma

If you feel more comfortable with (or feel more accustomed to) ['ramp]'s slot at Bandcamp, please go here:

https://ramp1.bandcamp.com/album/electric-karma

Another freebie can be found here:

https://doombientmusic.bandcamp.com/album/demoing-the-rmi-harmonic-synthesizer

I demoed the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer at a synth meeting in October this year, here are some recordings of that demo. It's also free of charge (but, of course, you can donate if you wish).

Thanks to all who have supported me by purchasing either a digital download album or a CD (or both) from me this past year.

Happy Holidays to all of you.

Stephen

Thanks Stephen, that's very kind of you. Very Happy

Happy to pay a couple of euro for these and add them to my BC collection.

I like the improvised nature of both of these short EP's,
along with hearing genuine hardware synths at work.

Happy holidays Very Happy

It is what I always do as well, free download is nice but having it in my collection and available in the app is worth some money.
