Pitch Black (2000)

I watched this when it came to German cinema years ago, but in the meanwhile learned that it contains music and sounddesign by Robert Rich, Steve Roach and Michael Stearns - which made me curious to watch it again recently - not bad, decent sci-fi / action thriller...

.

love that movie

"They say most of your brain shuts down in cryo-sleep. All but the primitive side, the animal side. No wonder I'm still awake."

German EBM band Diary of Dreams used that quote for the track Traum:A on their excellent album Freak Perfume

A cool quote to use for sure (...reminds me that I only discovered ten years late that Solar Moon System used a quote from "Stargate" in the self-titled opener of their album "Logbook" - which is excellent, btw.)

A Band Called Death (documentary about a proto-punk band) 6/10
Last Days Here (documentary about the heavy metal band Pentagram, and the most effective warning against drugs, I've ever seen.) 9/10

Independence Day Resurgence

Heavy on the CGI, low on acting, terrible plot. Brent Spiner as Dr Brackish Okun was the only funny thing in it.

Highly entertaining, even if you are not into this type of music:

Closer to The Original Series than the previous two films. Astounding visual effects, a candy for the eyes.

Not exactly a long movie but a short film:

http://www.christophergrantharvey.com/tears-in-the-rain.html

This short film by Grant Harveyes titled Tears in the Rain is a tribute to Blade Runner, a kind of prequel with just a couple of characters, a neat setting, a great Vangelis-esque soundtrack and a visual effects more than worthy.

A 10-minute love letter to Blade Runner.

See that one, Alvaro. Nice!
