Thought I'd step in with another poll, of which we haven't had many of late.

P.S. I voted for the 70's.

sorry can't give a vote.

I prefer the 70's but than the quantity, quality is to much something in the ear of the listener.
And for me the quality of the some Tangerine Dream or Schulze albums of the seventies is not that high, but They are my favorits Wink

I voted for the 80's. Not because of the midi sequencing or early digital synths, but because of Logos, Poland, and countless other albums. And because this is the era in which I grew up.

Well, these descriptions are humorous, of course everyone has his / her own reasons to like or not like a certain decade. You can always mention them. Who knows, it might even sparkle an interesting debate. I have already read some interesting and refreshing views here.
For instance, I have to disagree with Bert, I think a lot of 70's TD or Schulze is quality music. But you are right, it's all in the ear of a listener.

P.S. Bert, if you prefer the 70's, please do vote, whatever the reason.

VCO1: I, too, grew up in the 1980's, but when it comes to EM... most of my favourites seem to be from the decade before... ditto for Progrock.

70's was the revolution, 80's the evolution.
I love the 70's, but 20-30 classic albums can't make up for 35 years of EM.
80's was the time EM took to the masses.

Ok Artemi I voted for 70's Wink

70's was the revolution,
80's the moving towards NEW AGE , or going commercial
90's lost of direction
00's I hope a return to the 70's but than for the man with a small budget

00's for me. More choices and the music is just as good as the 70's.

Bert summed it up pretty well ^.

Hey, landlord, pass me some 70ies, pliieees... Wink

I mean, as I have never missed to state, nor will I ever miss to:

In no other decade such an amount of essential music was created!

Except perhaps the 60ies...

Or, let me think of it - I did like much of the 90ies as well (after all, I did start to make music in 1992...) Wink

And if I listen to all that innumberable mass of high-class material You can just find everywhere in the web for free, I'm tempted to add: today!

Or rather in the 50ies? Or even: the 30ies? Ever watched Oskar Sala do his thing? Boy - that man could perform!

Then again - from a certain perspective - the 80ies weren't completely uninteresting, either...

But excuse me, I digressed:
No, it was definitely the 70ies!

What else...?

70s were the revolution.
80s came with Logos, Poland, The Concerts in China, Zoolook, Wuivend Riet and so on.

I would like to vote 70s AND 80s, but if have to choose... 80s.

Just my two cents.
