There we go, plus a couple on eBay refurbished for around $750, but the issue is the state of the tapes.

I have recently discovered several reels with the tape stuck together, the machine motor just could not pull the tape!
Helping it by hand worked but I could see how the magnetic coating was coming off...

Tapes should be stored in climate controlled places and spun now and then, in a home environment any 20-30 year old tape is likely to be ruined.

Nice thoughts but highly unlikely to see MG's albums reissued.

If the tape is detoriated they can (but not always and its a delicate procedure) be restored by baking them. Litterally!

The Ampex 456 syndrome.

They used whale-oil which is now becoming a bit lumpy, after some 35 years.

Im not sure the 3340 and 3440 have the same head block and are thus compatible.

The only album by Michael Garrison I really know is 'In the Region of the Sunreturn', but I've also listened to some tracks from his other albums. His music is very recognisable.

Very nice. I ordered via Discogs a second hand Album of Eclipse ans the B-side of album was not on de CD version. Sad .

It should be in near mint condition. I will digitize the album as soon as I get it.

The CD version of Eclipse was cobbled together from fragments originally on The Basement Tape -- the original mastertapes of the B side of Eclipse had disappeared when Mike compiled the CD release.

They were miraculously retrieved later on and found their way onto the Prisms and Point of Impact CDs.

But if I'm not mistaken not all songs of the B-side are on Prisms and Point of Impact.

Hi Dronescape you were partly right.
On Point Of Impact there is Visions

and the other three are not on Prisms but on "In the regions of Sunreturn and beyond"!
Take a chance

Like I said, the missing tracks retrieved later showed up on different albums -- the CD version of Eclipse featured replacement tracks instead.

Yesterday would have been Mike's 60th birthday, 28th November 1956.
