I just stumbled upon this new review of the already slightly older album "Höllenengel" by fellow EMPortal member Stephen Parsick - and since it's a quite positive review, and I'm of the opinion that Stephen deserves kudos for any of his albums (as far as I know them) anyway, I thought I share it here...

It's on the German progrock review page "Babyblaue Seiten" (who are known for speaking their mind if the dislike anything) - and receiving 11 of 15 points here is a good result (I was told on another occasion)...

I won't translate it all (maybe Stephen likes to... Wink ), however here's the reviewer's conclusion:

"Höllenengel" thus offers an interesting, more free-format mix of electronic sound, located somewhere between Dark Ambient, classic electronica à la Berlin School, the more experimental Vangelis (see eg "Beaubourg") and the more melodic / anthemic musical excursions of the same Vangelis, yet develloping a very unique character. Lovers of rather gloomy, atmospheric electronica, who have no aversions towards free sound paintings without sequencer patterns should give this album a listen!"

Are, dear Stephen, still any copies available, by the way...?

Stephen is a very talented guy, his music is awesome, his term "doombient" definately sums it up.

Thank you all very much for these kind words.

I've lost track of the album a bit (and had completely forgotten about this website), thanks for reminding me.

I think I've still got some copies left...

Stephen

WTF Höllenengel is already 10 years old?
I remember when this came out. It raised my interest because much of it was done on the CS80. I had no idea of ambient music at the time, though.

This is an album you can create only once in your lifetime.

I for one wouldn't want to go through all that emotional turmoil again, even though it has ultimately led to this album.
