from the label's promo sheet (a promo of the cd kicked in a few days ago):
Musician Constance Demby adds to her remarkable repertoire, the anniversary of her most influential album. “Novus Magnificat: Through the Stargate 30th Anniversary Edition†(to be released on June 9th, 2017 on Hearts of Space Records) marks its influence in the New Age genre. This 2-CD 30th Anniversary Edition features the original recording re-cut by the artist to eleven movements and a second disc of never before released live recordings.
Billed by Constance Demby as "a contemporary Magnificat and Exaltate for digital orchestra and choral voices," Novus is an inspired fusion of influences from traditional sacred and classical music set in a contemporary electronic ambience.
Composed in 1986 and released in 1987, "Novus Magnificat: Through the Stargate" was greeted with immediate critical and popular acclaim. This album of symphonic, sacred music built the bridge between classical and choral music, and what would eventually become the New Age musical genre.
