Place your order here.

It seems that Peter Vogel has reimplemented the orginal Fairlight architecture in an FPGA device known as the Crystal Core Media Processor. He's building new CMIs in the distinctive housing of the originals, with alphanumeric terminal, light-pen, the works.

The order book closes at the end of September, so you'd better get started saving the required US$17,000  (plus another $2,000 for the extra keyboard). Delivery is projected to be Q1 2010.

In practice, if I had that much spare scratch to spend on one musical intrument, it would have to be a 200e.

Oh my ! <Gearlust> :D

That could get very expensive, very quickly !

a bit overpriced IMHO would rather spend it on a PPG Wave 2 with addons.
And spend the remaining 10000+ on payments on the house :-)

I've never delved into how the Fairlight works internally and what is possible but I don't see the value in a new Fairlight. Does it add something special to the usual samplers or software?
I can understand a Voyager or one of the modulars but I don't see the F. adds something that isn't already available.
It was something special in those days though (thinking about the oohs, aahs, orchestral hit and shaka zulu flute :-))
