Band promotion stuff

Who can advise some site where newly created band can promote its music? I’d like to make my band more popular. Somebody gave me a link on [url]artistecard.com[/url] on my facebook page. Does anybody know these services? Maybe someone knows other sites, something affordable?

Hi Angela, I can only say from my experience and I'm sure there'll be a lot more from the forum members.

Most of my promotion has been through Facebook advertising because I can readily identify people who like contemporary Tangerine Dream as a potential fanbase for my own music. Having released paid downloads, the costs of the advertising can be covered fairly easily through sales (in principal). That's my main promotion outlet.

Having a good website is a massive plus and are you able to leverage YouTube at all?

I'm afraid as I say, I may not be the best person to offer advice having not employed a broad strategy, but I'd be happy to discuss further!
