The rumors are true. (Well, most of 'em, anyway.) Dave has emerged from his underground lair (the Dave Cave?) with a fresh take on a classic, the all new Prophet '08. It is an eight-voice synthesizer with a 100% analog audio signal path. And it will be shipping very soon. More details will be available here on the Web site in a few days. Following hot on its heels will be the Prophet '08 Special Edition, each of which will be hand-signed by Dave and which will feature lighted wheels (RED!) and exotic leopardwood end panels. And for those of you who are wondering what happened to BoomChik, stay calm. Do not panic. Development is progressing nicely. Stay tuned!

Hm, I wonder if it would replace my Prophet VS in some way or other, and whether it would stop me longing for a P5... :D

The looks ... never liked the P600, though.

Probably stop the need for a P5 to a certain extent (still my favourite poly)
The P600 wasn't good to me either. No white noise was annoying and it just sounded rather boring. P5 is very organic and rich to my ears.

Can't see it replacing the VS in any way, but it is intended as a replacement/update of the P5, though it's obviously going to sound a bit different as it's DCO rather than VCO, but at least that means it will stay in tune.

Can't see that much resemblance to the P600, apart from the fact it's only got wood on the ends.

I quite like my P600, had intended to sell it when I got the P5 but it has it's own sound which I find quite pleasing.

I don't really see the P600 resemblance either - well ok - there is a vague resemblance. Love my P600... :)

Don't sell the P600, it's nice to see you with BOTH analogue beasts (the P5 and P600). :)
