What is your favourite?
Moog 960, ARP, PPG, Korg SQ-10, Roland 104, 717 or 182? Arrick? COTK? Doepfer? Serge or Buchla? Etc, etc, etc...

Personally I like the Buchla 200 sequencers. My system has the 17 note touch keyboard which works as a sequencer. You can set the start and end (or loop points) by touching the keys you want in realtime so you have 16 notes max (17th is the end) but you shorten it by touching whichever you want. if you see what I mean! Very cool. Combined with the other "standard" sequencer which is 5 x 4 steps but has voltage control of the start points, you end up with a very complex setup.
The ARP 2500 is great too. 3 x 10 steps and again lots of voltage control (speed, pulse width) and separate trigger outs per step. I am a bit overboard with these as I have 4 and tbh I think that is the most important bit. Combining sequencers can lead to a lot more flexibility.
I think the best, which I don't have, would be the Serge TKB though. Seems pretty amazing.

Me, I'm very lucky to have both the ARP 1601 and the Korg SQ-10. I'm not sure if I should go for a Moog/Arrick though...

For simple real time interaction I like the MAQ16/3
For more complicated interaction I like the P3
For modular sequencing I like the Nord Modular sequencers

Well, if we are including digital sequencers, I like the MDB Polysequencer (8 channel CV-Gate with polyphonic keyboard) and the MPS Zyklus
Both oddballs but both very cool at what they do.

[quote="dronescape"]...
The Manikin Schrittmacher definitely wasted the chance to come close to the CM-4... if it had just a fraction of the CM-4
