I took a quick look at the "Top posters" list and found several former active posters who haven't posted here for years:

arronizlive
M@kz Delissen
solitaryzen
oddentity
create
Dirk
etherworld
rasperjd
geigertek
Vaughan
ChrisX
corporation
Mach die Fliege
BillBinkelman
rattymouse
the glimmer room

Any info on the whereabouts of these guys?

M@kz was supposed to be involved in the mastering of the EMPortal Various Artists Album as well...

I guess they've all grown tired of EM and are now very active over at the official Slayer forum...

And your point Jon?

Send them all a nice pm and ask them to come back and post about Klaus Schulze and the same top 10 em artists from 1975 that are all the rave here!!

My guess is they have lives and live them rather than endless posting on the forums! OR perhaps they have nothing of interest to offer OR they got tired of peoples lack of support for their music and efforts?

I think rasperjd was none other than John Dyson.

oddentity was Rob from the UK who sadly died from cancer last year. He was a really nice guy

I was sat next to create at the recent Node gig

Also giegertek took all the great pics at the Node gig

I think all forums are slowly fading, as the 'Facebook Effect' takes over. However much you dislike the principle of FB, or its operation or economics, it is a fantastic way to network. I regret now coming to it so late. EM Portal is one of only three forums I now regularly visit; it is a really good forum.

True about Facebook; then again, FB is vast and time consuming (at least if You allow it to) and in a way, it also seems more "impersonal" - at least inside many groups there (which basically are the "equivalents" to forums, I think).

At the EMPortal, I feel more "at home" for some reason, maybe just because it's smaller. The pace is slower, and there seems to be more focus - yes, maybe in a way just because "the same people posting over the same albums from 1975 over and over again". Which is, of course, only partially the case, and then You also find this on FB a lot...

And this forum, for whatever reason, turned out the only one I've ever been a member in that I was active in a lot.

Must be some good vibes prevailing here... 😉
