I love the B3, but not in its usual context of Blues, Jazz, Rock

Oh yes I really like the sound. Thankfully it was/is used in loads of progrock albums (as was the mellotron and the mini).
Not that many electronic music albums had the B3 sound I think?

My favorite contemporary jazzy Hammond shredders have to be Brian Auger (although I love his ability to tinkle the ivories on a Rhodes just as much) and John Novello of the band Niacin (who got its name because he plays a B3 and niacin is vitamin B-3) and B3 Soul (which I haven't heard yet). He has also done an album with Alan Howarth called LunaTek which sounds like it may be more synthy that Hammondy. I also need to mention prog-rocker Erik Norlander who tends to be known more for his synth work, but he can shred his 1939 Hammond right there amongst the best of them.
