Any feedback on this yet? i preordered with Amazon here in the US. I have the original and the second version which was heavily criticized for taking out some key points of the original music. Hoping they didnt $ ...uck with the is one?
It's hard to believe this album is turning 40 this year.
To me, it still sounds completely out of time and place in Schulze's repertoire.
One of his best albums for sure; still, I feel there are a couple of earlier (and later) tracks which are in a similar vein (at least parts of them) - how about "Wahnfried 1883" or "Heinrich von Kleist", for example? "Dune" (the track) as well (...and there are more live and studio tracks which were released only later in the CD sets / LVE series).

Hopefully they have ironed out the glitches from the last reissue......
As far as I know (from reviews and what friends said, don't have the new version yet) this indeed seems to be the case...
His first 4 albums Irrlicht, Cyborg, Blackdance, and Picture Music are some of my own personal favourites......
All 4 albums are very much a case of necessity being the mother of invention.....
Lacking the studio and the cutting edge technology that he would later use, these albums to my ears sound primitive, often harsh, and ultimately highly creative.....
I found Dune, Dig It, Trancefer, and Audentity fairly wrong, not to mention what came after that.
I quit after X (which also made me grind my teeth more often than once). Picture Music is where Schulze took off for me -- the stuff before that tends to be a bit of a drag as well. Radical in its artistic statement and quite bold in its striking simplicity but musically nothing I could stand listening to for more than ten minutes.
