I have another opinion. First of all, the internal architecture is *not* like a string synth. It is a real 8 voice, 2 VCO/voice, 8 SSM VCF analog polysynth with patch memories. The synth part is like an 8 voice, 2 VCO Polysix. The Brass and the String parts share the same VCO:s as the Synth part. I think it was a mistake to include the string part, since it suggests a string machine.
The sound is very full, and the ability to layer (or split) the different parts, and include the built-in flanger makes up a huge sound.
The Mark 2 differs from the Mark 1 in that it has 2 ADSR per voice and not one, double up of memories and best of all the edit function.
Unless you like monster-size synths, one real backdraw is the enormous size. Pay no more than 350 euro.
