Long post issues fixed

All,

I finally found some time (thanks for Xmas!) to dive into the issues we had with long(er) messages.

I'm happy to let you know that it seems that I found the problem and was able to at least temporarily 'fix' it. That is, there is a workaround in place which is good enough for now. Some more work to do to find a definite solution, but that shouldn't impact the website anymore.
