I'm surprised his name hasn't been mentioned more.

I thought of digging out the cds I own of his the other day. It's been a few years since I played them.
I have his cd Namakar, Dissolution, Himalaya, True North (Amir Baghiri & Grassow) and Mercurius (Grassow, Klaus Wiese).

His music can be fairly "deep", experimental and somewhat dark. Some great atmospheric stuff to sink deep into.
I haven't heard much of his post 2001 music or much of his earlier music. I just discovered he's been around making music since the late 1970s or near abouts. I always found his music more satisfying than the Roachs and Robert Rich's out there.

I see he has a couple new projects he's done over the last few years.
One is Anam Cara (Mathias Grassow, Wolfgang Barkowski) another is
Nebula (Gianluigi Gasparetti, Klaus Wiese, Lorenzo Pierobon, Luna, Mathias Grassow, Mauro Malgrande, Tau Ceti)

Then there's these two projects that look to be more in "meditation" mode. KarmaCosmic and Nostalgia (Carsten Agthe, R

Well, just stumbled upon this rather old thread, and like Feb birth who started it, I'm rather surprised that there dosn't seem to be much interest in his work.

What I know from his music seems to me like top-notch ambient/drone music, all excellent, often rather somber, music.

Speaking of "surprises" - a few years ago I was surprised to learn that he was living just on the opposite bank of the river Rhine (from my perspective...) and we did meet two or three times and also had some phone chats. A most interesting, friendly, and creative person. Unfortunately (for me) he moved to somewhere else a while ago, which prevented further meetings. Actually, I still have some CDs he borrowed me then...

Anyway, I really can only highly recommend his music.

And especially his collaboration with Nostalgia (together with Rüdiger Gleisberg) is really great, their dark ambient/orchestral electronica album "The House On The Borderline" belongs to my alltime favorites...

I have a number of his albums including Dissolution, Space, True North, Eclipse, Sphere, The Hollow, Namakar and a more recent Emeralds.

I absolutely love Dissolution - deep, intense and absolutely awash/soaked with sound.

I also have his collaberation with Alio Die (Distant Horizons, I think...) which I need to listen to again to see if I can get more into it.

The nebula project is well worth getting into.
