MELLOTRON IMMERSION by Michael Brückner

Good evening everybody,

a few weeks ago I added a new immersive ambient video to my YouTube channel, this time based on the nostaligc sounds of the Mellotron - and more people than usually seemed to like it, quite a few of them asking me whether I would make the music available as an album. Well - today I did, as part of my little "Drones, Atmospheres and Dreamscapes" series!

The album is available both as a digital download and a 2 CD set.

In addition to that looong track from YT, it also includes a (shorter, but still long-form) variation of that music with sequences, and another, slightly more dark and mysterious track that also previously has been available on YT only, called "Monolith".

Cheers & have a nice weekend,
Michael

This is by far the tattiest-looking Tron I've ever seen (no feetsies, for starters), and I used to think #260 was pretty tatty.

Okay, the one that was lost in a fire at Musik Produktiv in Ibbenbüren back in 2006 admittedly looked a bit worse.

Clearly a rickety old box.

But a little patina goes quite well with the slightly warbling, hissing and often somewhat muffled retro nostalgia of the Mellotron sound.

Sorry to hear about that...

Those who say so have never actually played the real thing, let alone fixed one, laced new tapes, or adjusted keybeds.

Indeed. I wish I ever had a chance to, but neither had I ever been wealthy enough to buy a Mellotron, nor had I ever any wealthy friends who did.

Anyway, I was speaking about the visual aspect. If I could get my hands on one, I guess I'd prefer one in mint condition, too (and someone who can take care for technical details - personally, I couldn't even fix a bicycle tyre if my life depended on it... ;-) ).
