Three Kings Day, twelve days after Christmas we celebrate the visit of the three wise men to the infant Jesus.
While I am writing these lines I am looking at a picture of a smiling middle aged man, not a king but a friendly looking man with a dog, a man that loved fishing and had a passion for the ‘Music of the Future’. A man whom I never met.
Yesterday I had a brief chat with a fellow member and we exchanged the usual wishes. After our conversation he finalized his message informing me that the man on the photo passed away September last year.
John Kelly aka ‘sparrow’ 54 yr, suffered from cancer, battled but lost the fight.
John was a registered member since April 2007 just after the start of EMPortal. I remember the technical problems which initially prevented him to enter the site, I remember our conversations in order to get access and how driven he was to become part of the new community. In the 10 years that followed he posted thousands of messages during his countless visits and in a certain way became one of the assets to the forum.
Despite the fact that we never met it feels like I lost somebody, somebody with the same passion and the drive to share his thoughts in public.
Like Edgar Froese once said: “There is no death, there is just a change of our cosmic addressâ€
Farewell John, it was nice to have met you…
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.â€
