Some of you may have been following the news on NAMM 2013. And this year I find it the most exciting one in years. Lots of new stuff, but these new analogue synthesizers are stars:

- Moog Subphatty
- Korg MS20 mini
- Dave Smith Instruments Pro 12.

The latter is the most expensive. I am saving my money for the first 2 this year and the Pro 12 hopefully next year.

Given the prices of individual Buchla modules, 4,000 USD is not an unreasonable price for a complete Buchla. The Electric Music Box labelling just reinforces the nostalgic draw of this synth....brilliant marketing idea. It's very clear that Buchla is now owned by a corporate parent.

I think they will be overwhelmed by orders for this.

The big questions are
1. When they will start shipping?
2. How fast can they make them?

I have already seen people selling Euro modules to raise money to buy one of these.

Moon Modular introduced the following modules at NAMM:
501D dual oscillator (includes noise source)
501E oscillator expander
501M oscillator mixer
506 voltage controlled modifier (LPF and VCA)

With these announcements, it is now possible to put together a modular system that is 100% Moon modules. They're still missing some of the other basics like Ring Mod, but now Moon has modules that can make sound. :)

It may be time to think about replacing some of my Synthesizers.com Q106 oscillators.

I like the Moon stuff. If I was going that route, I'd order their stuff along with Hordijk.

That's very nice, David. Only the price... 4.000

It's a lot of money, but as mentioned above, that's a good price compared to their other stuff. The older Buchla stuff is beautiful sounding. The 200E IMHO less so.
I had an original Easel and it's a lot of fun. Cool thing but pretty simple really.
