Hello Glenn Folkvord!
I've heard Dystopia's The Second Dawn - It's amazing! It works perfectly as a soundtrack to world of post-nuclear war devastation or something alike, a dystopia. Very dramatic, and inspirational! "Core Melt" still gives me the chills. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Origo's newer releases. I wonder if the guys from Dystopia are working on anything nowadays.

Indeed, you are spot on. It's a great ambient album in with a dystopic atmosphere, and dystopic conceptual theme.

They have not put out new albums since 2004 due to the label's owner been busy, but from their recent-ish output you should check out Glass Darkly from Circular (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/circular2) or SK Johansen (http://cdbaby.com/cd/skjohansen2) for other good ambient albums (albeit not scary, as Dystopia). Or perhaps Living Dreamtime (http://cdbaby.com/cd/livingdreamtime) for softer, mellower ambient music, for mediation.

Actually, Origo Sound has a complete & finished master for a new album from Dystopia lying around, but no time to release it yet. Maybe it's coming out in the end of this year or sometime next year, as we are gearing up.

"We" means that I am now employed by Origo Sound, not to work on the label as such but for another, bigger project and it's for that project Dystopia might come out with a new album, because it definitely does exist!

I will keep you informed if you join the mailing list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/origosound or

Yes, "Second Dawn" is a nice, but dark & sometimes slightly scary ambient album;
I also recommend the cd of The Living Dreamtime for all who love dreamy, freeform drifting soundscape textures....

Hi Phrozenlight,

About 90 albums have been sold until now. Each of the albums sell between 50 - 100 copies (they are quite experimental and low-fi), after that I am tired of burning copies :-)

There is a new album coming soon, called Transreformation.
