He is 66 now. Time for a new album, last one came in 2011.

Personally, I like the TD, O'Hearn, Ciani and Yanni stuff. But also lesser known artists like Azuma, Eddie Jobson, Jerry Goodman, David Van Tieghem, John Tesh and James Newton Howard had good stuff. Weird how they also released other music by artists like Ringo Starr and Jennifer Warnes.

I just read my way through their catalogue to see if I know any of the albums they released. I don't really, except the TD ones (and those never would be "favourite albums" of mine...).

I suppose I'd champion the Philippe Glass one, or perhaps one by Ravi Shankar or maybe Leo Kottke (but that's just guessing without having heard one).

Oh wait, or maybe, Suzanne Ciani. "Seven Waves", why not...?
And I vaguely remember to once have heard something by O'Hearn that I liked...

Because it's not a 'true' Private Music release!? ;-)

Like Franke's album, both Seven Waves and The Velocoty of Love were released on a different label way before their Private Music (re-)release. Seven Waves' initial release, for example, was in 1982. While the first re-release on Private was in 1988.

I (still) love the early Ciani albums b.t.w.

Well, but no idea - after all, I can't form an opinion on albums I never heard (or only superficially). Some names in their catalogue (like Kottke, Glass or Shankar) attract my attention, and I guess they would basically be able to come up with great music. But if they did so in this case I still need to find out...

Strangely, I did discover Suzanne via her (both later and early) work with the Buchla rather, mostly unaware of what she did in between (except for sound design for Coca Cola - or was it Pepsi...?).
Anyway, it's on my list to check her 80s albums one day, but so far I didn't arrive there yet.

Well, the Franke album came out on Private and Virgin at the same time, 1991.
