Remixes as bonus tracks or bonus CD

Hey gang,

Let's say we have an EM album ready, and then a batch of remixes. Do you generally prefer to have the remixes as bonus tracks on the album, or as a separate CD? Take into account that a bonus CD would not cost extra, it would be a gift.

(Let's ignore downloads for the moment.)

I don't like remixes in general, so I probably wouldn't care for them in either case. However, if it's for no extra cost, I think an additional CD of remixes would be ok.

If they fit on the cd - then I see no problem in saving the expense of creating a 2nd disc and just tacking them onto the end of the original release.

I like remixes. :) Not all, of course, but in general - the concept of a remix is fun.

Sometimes I prefer a certain remix more then the original version.
But most of the times I skip remix bonus tracks versions of track heard before on a CD.

In that case, would you prefer to have the remix on the main CD album, or as an additional CD?

Trying to create some user/customer/fan interaction here :-)

If I really like the remix, it should go to the (main) CD.
If it does not match my taste,, please copy it to the bonus disk.

But how to know before, if it will match for example my preferences?

Tough question!

Maybe I should rephrase; do you think remixes would interfere with the original album, if they are in the end, and clearly labelled as bonus tracks?

And do you always want an extra CD, or is your shelf space limited?

For me, this is not a big problem. Remix tracks are nice, no matter if they are at the end of the main disc or as a bonus disc.
