Power Windows (1985) revealed the influence of electronic devices on their (hard)rock music. Great album by the way (as a lot of their earlier and later albums are)

They were my fave band for a good few years. I still love them. Nice guys that make incredible sounds considering they ar only three. Power Windows is typical 80's sounding but the production on that record is superb. I remeber back in 1978 an older guy lent me 2112. I had never heard nothing like it so far in my life. It broadened my horizons in collecting music and introduced me to prog rock.

Saw them live on their Caress of Steel tour (they opened for KISS if you can believe that). Geddy Lee had laryngitis so they only played a half hour set. Alex Lifeson was something to see.

My favorites (although, admittedly, I stopped foloowing them afterHemispehres) are 2112 and A Farewell to Kings.

I had a friend who was a real fan of the First years...

But to be honest... To me, good tracks, are only isolated on those albums... "My" Rush, is from Hemispheres to Grace under pressure... specially 1981-1982

...IMHO... Moving Pictures was their higher peak (musically), Then came the Great Exit stage left... and my favorite song (but not album) "Subdivisions" from "Signals"

I'll try to get the snakes and arrows...

Could be my story.

I was introduced to them with 2112 by a friend. Bought Hemisphere, saw their tour but I think I lost interest shortly after that.

Speaking of KISS - Can you imagine who opened for KISS in Germany in the 80s?

Iron Maiden...

2112 was my first album. I still love the synth on the Overture part. I've followed them since and although I don't like Vapour Trals at all. Snakes & Arrows is a real return to form. Sadly due to circumstances I won't get along to see them this year.
