Earlier this week I received my copy of Meesha's album Within The Parallel plus the Dutch Masters cd released by Groove Unlimited. Meesha's album has been in pretty much constant rotation for the rest of the week. It is pretty obvious what his influences are (the sounds of early Jean Michel Jarre) but what he does with them is rather compelling.
Another Dutch artist that I have a lot of respect for is Michel van Ossenbruggen a.k.a. Synth.nl. He has gone from strength to strength on each of his three albums and I am eagerly awaiting his new Apollo album. In the meantime he provided a track for the Dutch Masters compilation album, a collection of tracks played by Dutch synthesists and inspired by Dutch paintings and painters. Quite rightly so Synth.nl's track Nachtwacht opens the album.
And so with the addition of an early Michael Stearns track the tale of three M's was complete and the music of this week's show will be as follows:
* Meesha - The Fourth State Of Matter
From the album Within The Parallel (label: MMP www.meesha.nl)
* Synth.nl - Nachtwacht
From the album Dutch Masters (label: Groove Unlimited)
* Michael Stearns - Ancient Leaves
From the album Ancient Leaves (label: Earth Turtle / Groove Unlimited)
* Meesha - Back To Square One
From the album Dutch Masters (label: Groove Unlimited)
* Meesha - Interconnected
From the album Within The Parallel (label: MMP www.meesha.nl)
How can I listen to the show? Go here
http://gemist.omroepalmelo.nl
If you want to listen live then check in around 19:00 (Central European Time) and click on "Live Stream" which you can find in the left column of the screen. However, the whole show is also available within minutes after 20:00 as an On Demand Screen. For that click on Sonolab in the list of programs in the middle of the screen. A second window will open up (might be that you have to accept that through your pop-up killer) and the show starts (with a bit of that evenings 19:00 hours news first).
Check in if you have the time and let me know what you think of the show.
