I certainly like the EWI too.

If I recall correctly, Kevin Braheny also used the EWI quite a lot.

Isn't this funny...?

The most distinguishing feature of Braheny's best music is the Steiner EWI, a remarkable electronic string instrument which in his gifted hands sounds as expressive and emotionally resonant as any violin, viola or cello music.

EWI = Electronic Wind Instrument

For those who don't know, Kevin, who had long been long absent from the ambient scene (his last recording was The Spell with Tim Clark in 1996) has reemerged and has been playing on recent Paul Avgerinos' CDs, e.g. Gnosis, Phos Hilaron and Words Touch. He hasn't lost a step, so to speak.

I think Rain (his first effort with Clark) and The Way Home are outstanding releases. The Way Home is an essential "classic" spacemusic release.

Didn't Bendik Hofseth play on some Steps Ahead records?

I think The Rippingtons used the EWI from time to time.

One of the few bands that used the EWI (Michael Brecker, RIP) and I always wondered why the EWI isn't used more in EM (or is it?).

Anyway, this is one of my favourites:

How did Michael Brecker pass on.....? 😢

I had a few Brecker Bros. albums at one time.
