Maybe an interesting new debate for our EM-scene.
Many of us, forum members, produce and release electronic music on various platforms and physical items. Some of us release music on platforms like Distrokid or TuneCore, next to Bandcamp. And ofcourse it's about the money that may generate.
Question is: what's in it for the musician/producer?
Now you can say, that you don't release music for the money! But that's fooling yourself, because otherwise you won't release it for a price, but give it away freely.
For me Bandcamp is the place to be. Selling my albums for a small amount of money, is more satisfactory that counting streams in numbers you may dream of. Another plus is the possibility to build a network of fans concentrated around your music.
What's your opinion/experience on this?
(please keep it light, friendly and social)
