I will probably never get the point of why people are so keen on using a Taurus.

It must be the "Rush/Hackett/Police/Genesis" connotations rather than the actual sound of it (which I didn't find to be any more spectacular than, say, a Moog Prodigy in terms of girth).

I think its more to do with the fact that you can play them with your feet at the same time as playing something else with your hands ;-)

I suppose they were quite limited with the sound that they were capable of producing but saying that, why would you want something too complicated in sound production when your going to play one note at a time and tread all over the things :-)

No, the thing about the Taurus is the sound. It really is something different. Bring it on a big stage, and it can take down the house like nothing else. There is a deep power in that sound.
