Well, it wasn't easy to decide for me where in which category to place this announcement, but hopefully, a "progressive rock" / EM fusion describes our approach well enough when my bandmates Reinhold Krämer, Wolfgang Bechtluft and me started out to do our thing more than ten years ago, although I guess our pidgeon hole of choice would have been "art rock" rather (...think King Crimson, Van der Graaf Generator, Snakefinger with a flavour of Dead Can Dance - and countless other ingrediences, or inspirations and aspirations at least. Transpirations...?!).
Well, so this is an anniversary re-release of sorts:
TEN YEARS AFTER the initial release of our first B4 SUNRISE album as a CD-R, it's finally available as download, too - here's "Outside Travels" again. Enjoy!

B4 SUNRISE still is the last incarnation of a longer line of bands and projects originating from the area of Alzey (near the city of Mainz, near Frankfurt). The constellation Reinhold Krämer (keyboards, vocals), Wolfgang Bechtluft (guitars, vocals) and Michael Brückner (electronics, production) exists since about the year 2000. From time to time, the band was joined by various guest musicians, including Franziska Taube, Cäcilia Brückner, Stefanie Cole, Klaus Chmielweski and Hannah Brückner on vocals, Ulrich "Ubi" Birk and Steffen Brückner on guitar, and Christiane Heuer on cello.
The trio always was a studio project in the first place and accomplished three albums and one EP yet, "Outside Travels" (2003), "Martians" (2006), "The Only Child" (2005, EP) and "Poison Tongue" (2008).
Originally mainly King Crimson-inspired, B4 SUNRISE features eclectic art rock, mixing a great variety of stylistic gestures (progressive rock, folk, dance, ambient, psychedelic, metal - to name but a few...) to their own unmistakable sound.
Wolfgang Bechtluft (WollotoW) and myself (...as You might know) also pursue solo projects.
Since about 2009 the project is on hold, or at least reduced to very rare jam sessions, due to various reasons, but all the while all members hope to bring the band together again, one day...
"Outside Travels" was laid down after about two years of sessions and rehearsals, between late 2001 and early 2003 in Michael Brückner's home studio and previously was available as a privately distributed CD-R.
It contains both already older pieces, that had been performed live by earlier incarnations of the band, but never recorded, written by Reinhold Krämer and/or Wolfgang Bechtluft, as well as new material, partly written by Michael Brückner, or the whole band. The oldest song, "Childhood Dream" even goes back to the year 1978...
