I'd think that there's some hope, because all but one of his 70s and 80s solo albums were on Virgin. The exception, Macula Transfer, was on Brain, but some of it appeared on his Beyond the Storm (Virgin) compilation, though he might have just rerecorded it - and so it would be a "tampered" version.

Re: Tangerine Dream - Pilots Of Purple Twilight 1980-83 (10CD)
When viewed in this light, I wonder how likely a complete box set of all Froese solo albums -- untampered with -- will be.

Solo 1974-1983 from a few years ago wasn't a bad effort in terms of gathering together his Virgin recordings.
The mastering, particularly on Aqua is the best I've heard of all available versions.

To me, it was a bit too much of even they put on their trousers only one leg at a time.
Too much of a mixed bag, particularly The Soldier and The Keep. Not exactly overwhelming, to me.
But then again, what do I know?

Not bad, but much more impressed by The Hades box. Much more varied, much more unreleased tracks. It is good to have the Pilots box too, but to be honest i wasn’t too impressed either by the Logos concert (It’s like a splitted concert between the Rare Schmoelling solos and the other stuffs done mainly from tape or The Soldier. They are more a curiosity thing for me. The Keep was never among my favourites - has mainly a cult status than a real importance for me. The music was made mainly by Edgar and You can hear it clearly, it lacks chemistry and soul IMHO. Shows again that TD was Great and big only as a band (mainly the FFB and FFS eras). Please don’t come with the “greatness” of the actual money- and fame driven tribute band (still) called (shamely) Tangerine Dream
