Hi,

anyone here having experience with running a stream server? I just fiddled around with icecast2, but, unfortunately, there seems to be no good web based management interface, and even less for having more than one person managing the stream.
Any help or hint much appreciated :)

You should probably ask this on electro-music.com, there are a few people there with experience of this stuff

Thanks guys.

I have an icecast server up and running (freebsd), just, I found no managing support for web use. And as I am not the only one operating the stream, I would like to minimize the possibility for others to mess everything up ;)

Of course, I could spend some time writing a "php web console", but, naturally, re-using an existing app is easier (and saves me hours) ;)

@Jez: maybe you are right, and I should change to a shoutcast server. This is all still too tekkie application-wise. *bummer*

When I play on stillstream the DJ Tange, who is in Scotland, has remote control of the Shoutcast server as he switches the stream to me when I play then back to him when he does his bit, then on to the next person when his show ends, I guess this is what you want to do?

Yup, such kind of stuff. Remote Control. Also for uploading, automation, and so on.
