all text quoted from the original forum:

"We're accepting music for the next volume again.
Rules and conditions are the same as for "Analogy Volume 2".
Deadline for music is the 1st of August 2007.
Scheduled release date is E-Live 2007 (13th October 2007)."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"There's no need to ask if there's still space or if you can participate.
EVERYBODY can participate as long as you stick to the rules.
The deadline for entering music is the 1st of August.
At that moment we will determine which music we'll use.
So until then we'll welcome everybody to send in music."

All music must be send to Ron Boots.
Contact him for details.
His email is: ron@groove.nl

Volume 3 will be called Analogy 3.

And the rules are still the same as 1 and 2. With samples mellotron.

If someone is in doubt whether something is allowed then ask Ron Boots.

Thanks.

I suggest these rules, the limit amout is not so good because it makes no sence if you can do Multitrack rrecordings!! That way you can infact use more then 3 without checking, I also purpose mellotron samples (as only samplebased sounds)
The sound is for many essential in electronic music.
Otherwise I am ok with these rules.
I would suggest lets make music. And those who want to participate contact me personally so I can make a list of artists that will join us in this second endavor.

1) true analogue synths (modulars, mono, poly etc etc)
2) REAL tape replay devices (like Mellotrons) - or Original samples!
3) analogue or electromechanical organs
4) analogue el. pianos
5) analogue guitar synths, guitar effects etc
6) analogue drum machines (no digital or sampled)
This means NO TR 606 or 808 - and TR 909 they also use samples
7) any other analogue instruments (theremins etc)

That means:

1) NO sampling
2) NO digital / FM / Wavetable etc synthesis
3) NO modelled or virtual analogue
4) NO soft synths, samplers, drum machines etc.

No restrictions for effects, multitrack recorders, sequencers.

although after some discussion TR606 and 808 were allowed

actually got my Sequential synth mended so I can have a go this year. It's tricky as I have no analogue polysynth but restrictions help the creative juices flow sometimes - is that the idea?!

Well i have no analog polyphonic synth or analog sequencer (although i would love to get both) but as you say it is still very possible to submit something creative.Working on cosmic kiwi 3 track at the moment.

The Roland TR 606 and TR 808 both don't have samples included at all !!!
Please check the schematics.
I owned a TR 606 for many years. The Snare uses a simple noise and analog oscillator. The Toms and Bassdrum use just an analogue oscillator. The Hihat and the Cymbal uses a very special cross FM 4 OP design. Again 100% pure analog.
The TR 808 is build more or less the same way but with additional instruments. All are 100% analogue and without sampling.
So this rule is a rule that is wrong by its definition.

And yes, the TR 909 included a sample(s) for some sounds.

Till, I only copied what Ron said last time and then there was a similar discussion, which is why I added after the quote 'although after some discussion TR606 and 808 were allowed'

:)
