I thought Rick Wakeman had found the best use for a Mellotron...chuck it on a bonfire and burn it :)

Hmmmm. I prefer the TD et all approach myself.
Didn't actually know that you could do all that with a Mellotron.

Anyone interested in hearing some more "out-there" music done with mellotrons ought to check out the experimental artist Kangaroo Kourt (and more specifically their side project Mauve Sideshow).

Sorry for asking a stupid question, but there's something about the Mellotron that confuses me. I have heard or read Edgar Froese in interviews saying that Mellotron was very hard to work with, and often out of tune. How can it be out of tune, when the sounds are triggered from tapes?
