I have been inspired by his music since 1988 when I heard "Rivers gonna Rise".

For me one of the best bass-players out there. His search to fine excellent music never stops. I like the balance between melody, harmony and sound-effect. He only uses sound-effect when have to say something, just as in acoustic music. But hey, therefore he's a bass-player.

More info at: http://www.patrickohearn.com/index.htm

I don't really have a favourite album, I like all each in their own way.

I agree, one of my absolute favorite artists. I have most of his albums and often check his site for new releases. Also remember to see the DVD Timeless, where his music is set to beautiful nature movies.

Indigo just might be my favorite album. Enjoy his early work the best.
Very good driving music! 8)

While I seem to be the only person who thinks this (based on the many O'Hearn threads over the years I have read), I think Metaphor is his best work, and, as someone mentioned about Indigo, it's also perfect driving music. I played it once while driving through a river valley of small towns in rural Wisconsin on a grey fall day and it was almost eerie how well the music fit with everything else.

I've never been to the USA, but for me it's pure American music on its best.

...and if you want to listen something different check Frank Zappa recordings from middle-late seventies. He is there! 😉

Right on the money! Personally, I think the opening track, "Patience, My Friend," and the sixth, "Let Truth Prevail" are the best on the CD and the latter would probably be in my top 25 songs of all time, regardless of instrumental genre (EM, new age, ambient, etc.).
