I agree....but i like the earlier "Second toughest of the infants" even more...great band indeed. Perhaps the best of the dance oriented electronica. I would also recommend highly their live DVD "Everything Everything". Top stuff... "pearls girl" has a really stomach shaking bass sounds. The track embodies the best things there was in the techno scene in the 90

i am with the first album i liked the 2nd and 3rd but for me the first had some real golden moments. i still love dirty epic after all these years. most people do seem to like the more upbeat stuff but not me.

I like the rest of their work (well, maybe not the newest stuff) but dubnobasswithmyheadman is just awesome.

I heard it on Annie Nightingale's show (I think) driving down the M40 and it took me years to find a copy, every time I looked in a record shop it was an empty section. Bizarre for something so mainstream, but worth the effort.

The Dark & Long EP is effectively the second CD of a double album. Worth finding if you don't have it.

[quote="cyberiad2001"]was "dirty epic" the track with the nice triplet arpeggio bubbling in the background and Karl Hyde talking about "Christ on cruthes" or something in that direction??? If that

"Christ on cruthes"
thats the one! if you can dig out interviews they did at the time most of the first album was done on a small set up i dont think they got a akai till the end and where using a casio fz 10 alomg with some dx 7 and arp 2600 (i think, could be wrong).
the track after is good as well the way they used 4 vocal samples to build up the intro. thats the everything everything, im invisable one.

andy

got to go and dig that one out now with all this talk!
