One of the things I have discovered is that some hi-fi dealers will let you audition some equipment at home, it might be worth asking if that is possible so you can hear what it sounds like in your room rather than theirs

Hey Seren.

My Tannoy Mercury floor standers were Scottish built and a I love them. However that company was bought up a few years ago and bailed to China for manufacture I believe. Some of the design team and staff started there own company Fyne audio. The speakers have been getting excellent reviews in the press so that is the way I am leaning at present.

Turntable first though Cool

Yeah seems to be more common now. We have a good dealer in a nearby town so looking forward to heading over and checking out the gear. Loads of great stuff.

Think he stocks naim also.

Fancying the 501 floorstanders. Need to hear them obviously but very well reviewed and look superb.

Order of upgrade will be,

Turntable
Amp
CD
Then speakers.

Hopefully.
