I hope this guy knows a) the meaning of this word in German and b) the context it was used within.
If he does, I for one would steer clear of people who make use of this type of iconography and/or rhetorics (and the kind of audience they might potentially attract).
If not, he should be given a smack in the face to make him wake up.
Stephen

Hi Stephen,
I will let him know!
(I have nothing to do with this - it is the artist who has chosen the name).

He should have known better.
Then again, if it was his aim to provoke a response, he was successful.

This guy is a fully grown up norwegian. During WW2 Norway was occupied by nazi Germany and the people suffered hard from imprisonment, torture and murders. I am totally convinced that he is very aware of this and the meaning of the word untermench. I didn't discuss this with him, but as you know sometimes it is a method to take back a word as a kind of revenge. Like black people calling themselves n1gg3rs etc. Hope you understand what I mean. He is a very nice guy btw.

That's very witty indeed.
Pat him on the back from me. Heavily.

It's probably a bit off-topic to mention that (with regards to his artist name) but Geir is not only a great musician, but an even greater visual artist.
Especially his surreal pencil drawings are very evocative, breathtakingly skillful and one of a kind...

Your sarcasm is great. As always.
I find it hard to believe that the name was chosen 'by accident'. With a Google search the first pages with results all refer to the use of the word by the Nazi's. No matter how great an artist (graphic or otherwise) he may be, the use of this nom de plume is a huge disqualification.

You mean in the same way that using the title "Svastika Girls" is a huge disqualification of Robert Fripp and Brian Eno...?
Or, the song "The Subhuman" disqualifies Blue Öyster Cult...?
Or, "Lustmord" disqualifies Brian Williams...?

Nope. The first two are song titles. That's different. And Lustmord doesn't have any (neo-)Nazi connotation, as far as I know.
